The silly season has arrived with many members out and about playing in other clubs Christmas Cheer Tournaments. Mahunga’s Christmas Cheer Tournament is this Saturday which is a Stableford competition with a shotgun start at 10.00am so be there and get your cards in by 9.30am for a great day. Entry is $30.00 and includes 2’s, long drives and nearest the pins.
On Sunday the club competition was a Par round and in group 1 first was Wayne Evans on 5 up, followed by Paul Beech and Steve Dick on 3 up. In group 2 Frankie Martin had the round of the day and was first on 8 up, followed by Matt Paku on 7 up and Denis Hutchby on 5 up. Holes in two were scored by Darryl Coley, Steve Dick and Frankie Martin.
On Tuesday the Vet’s played a Stableford competition and in the men’s division first was Ross Ireland on 38 points, followed by Roy Brider on 34 and Meki Lauvi on 31. In the ladies division Michelle Coley and Maria Lauvi were first equal with 33 points and Nan McNae was next on 31 points. Nearest the pins went to Maria Lauvi and Roy Brider while Meki Lauvi scored a hole in two.
This weekend as mentioned we have the Christmas Cheer Tournament on Saturday and on Sunday the club competition is a Bisque Par round.
